A clean hole is the anchor's first job.

Ramset and Hilti both make hole cleaning a mandatory step. Our vacuum nozzles seat straight into an 8 to 16mm masonry hole and pull the drilling dust out through your site vac, so resin bonds to concrete and sleeve anchors seat to full depth. Printed to order in NSW.

Why dust fails anchors

Drilling leaves the hole wall coated in fine dust. Inject resin onto that and it bonds to the dust, not the concrete. A screw-in or sleeve anchor drives onto the same dust and stops short of full embedment. Either way the anchor can let go well under its rated load.

Every anchor manufacturer we checked accepts vacuum extraction as a cleaning method. A blow pump pushes silica dust into your breathing zone. A vac takes it off site.

The sequence

  1. Drill to depth

    Diameter and embedment straight from the anchor data sheet, plus a little extra for debris.

  2. Vacuum

    Seat the matching nozzle in the hole and pull the loose dust out.

  3. Brush

    A stiff wire or nylon brush sized to the hole lifts the compacted dust off the wall.

  4. Vacuum again

    Remove what the brush loosened. Repeat as the manufacturer specifies, then set the anchor.
